Default Do I have a T-5 tranny?

I have an 01 V6 and in multiple hours of looking up clues to see what tranny I have, I have ended up more confused than ever. Everywhere is contradicting one another so lemme get your input. The tranny code on the sticker inside the door says "TR 5". Also, if this is a T-5, is it the "World Class T-5"? From what I understand those only come in the cobras? Idk, its so confusing... Thank for the help in advanced guys!

Like one website, I think american muscle, said that if my tranny drain is on the bottom then it is a T-5. Otherwise it is a T-3650. The drain is on the bottom.

Then another website said it is either a T-5 or T-45. Then another one says that it doesnt come with a T-5. Like.... ugh.

Do you have an auto or manual?

T5 is the manual trans used in the 94-04 v6 mustangs, and i believe its a world class because it uses ATF instead of gear oil.

T5s in mustangs from 85 and up were WC, ford was one of the first companies to move from the BorgWarner NWC to the WC. In 98 they all became Tremec T5s and are all considered WC transmissions. In 96 mustangs with the modular v8s all got a T45, essentially a T5 with a few differences to accommodate the modular engine blocks.

Yes it is a manual and it does call of ATF fluid however when I rebuild the tranny I will use Royal Purple Synchromesh. One of the guys that builds T-5's for racing says that it is probably the best oil to use for the T-5. Idk if he was talking about it being the best with his advanced rebuild kit or just in general but I trust a guy that has built 100's of T-5's. Thank you guys so much! I really love this forum. You guys have been a great help in learning more about my mustang!

Thank you so much for the information! I could learn about mustangs for years and years and find every bit of information interesting. I saw one of the videos where this guy was rebuilding a T-5 and he showed some cool little things that Tremec did and I was so fascinated!
