Default Programmer Thoughts Pros/Cons

I am interested in purchasing a programmer for my 1999 3.8 Auto Mustang. After reading the different manufactures websites they all look pretty much the same. Most have three basic programs, I'm not looking at trying to gain the power of a V8 just a better low end. I like the older Diablosport U7146 Predator. But seems like theses maybe hard to find that are not married to a previous Mustang.

What opinions are out here from users of different brands.

All tuners will do the same for a stock vehicle. For a 99 Mustang expect only around 5-8rwhp on a really good tune.
