Default Rear pinion seal leak

This week I found out that the rear pinion seal was leaking, differential fluid leaking on the garage. Bought a timken seal from Amazon for $13 and finally tested my Craftsman 1/2" cordless impact. Not a bad job to do it, the timken seal doesn't look like the motorcraft on the outside, the motorcraft has that extra dust protector but anyway I hope the timken will last. I just put in a cheap 85w140 valvoline differential fluid to top it off since I lost almost a pint when doing the replacement. I'll be removing the diff cover soon and put in synthetic mobil 1. The plug has that nasty gum residue when I pulled it out, although the fluid doesn't look that old I think there's some old gunk settling below the pumpkin.
