Hello,

My son has a 2000 mustang with gray leather seats. I was considering picking up a used passenger seat and attempting to swap the fabric and possibly cushion over to his driver seat.

Anyone ever attempt this with success?

I realize that there will be an extra hole left behind where the seat belt holder connects under the headrest and also behind the seat where the lever to fold the back foward is. I can cover or live with this.

I would check some junk yards for Mustang leather seats rather than attempt what you want to do. Try Craiglists for seats also. Ebay auctions.

I did find some on craigslist. Passenger seat was in good shape, driver was damaged. That's what got me thinking this might be workable. Was hoping I might cross someone who had already done this and knew it would work.

They are close but different. I've done a few upholstery kits now and 9/10 times the passenger side is different from the drivers. I haven't done your exact year model but I'd be very surprised if it just fit with a straight swap over.
