Default Steering wheel removal

Anybody know how to remove the factory steering wheel in order to put on an aftermarket?

you have to remove the inflator, then the wheel, then the clock spring, then install your hub, then the aftermarket wheel. now your air bag light will be on as its missing, the cruise control will be inop, and you will see a large amount of the inner workings of the column. i have never seen an aftermarket wheel on that era mustang that didnt look like crap. but good luck.

Wont see the inner workings if you buy a hub like from Momo.

I like this wheel.

And by hub I mean this.

you can still see a gap around the column trim, but if that doesnt bother a person, more power to you. however it seems like alot of money to spend, to lose cruise control, turn on your air bag light, make it less safe in a crash, and make it harder to sell to a person who likes all those things if one eventually sells the car

Im happy with my normal wheel. I matches my interior and its comfortable and in great shape....no cracks. Our Trans-Am had a piece of the wheel fold open on it,. I super glued it and it was fine but I could always feel that area when turning.
