Default AC regular air?

Okay so I bought my 2003 Mustang a while ago, but after a month or so driving it, I noticed that even on max cold, my AC didn't blow cold air, just regular air which would sometimes be hot. Also I noticed that while my AC is on, my car will rev by itself and lurch forward if my foot is not on the brake. When the AC is off, my car does not rev at all though. What could be wrong?

Your AC needs to be serviced, any number of things could be wrong from leaks to compressor/condenser inoperative. As far as the idling, when the compressor kicks on there is a idle sensor which kicks up the idle to account for the compressor lugging on the power a little. It shouldn't be that noticeable.

you could be low on refrigerant (due to a leak)
try re-charging it.

try going to a repair shop, having it diagnosed and repaired for a leak. if its leaking, and you refill it you could shortly be inhaling r134a- not good. also a recharge doesn't remove moisture as does applying a vacuum to the system. put it this way, if the leak was small enough that the refrigerant leaked out, then how are you going to evacuate the air that displaced it. First check if the compressor clutch is spinning when you turn it on(it probly isn't) now you can try unplugging the transducer and crossing the pins, if that has no effect you are most likely a blown fuse or electrical issue. if you can hear the clutch engaging then you are most likely looking at a low pressure situation. now you must bring it to a shop or buy this for yourself:

A little late here but, look behind the glove box, there is a vacuum reservoir. It looks like a plastic ball. Its what controls the blend doors. I had one that the hose kept popping off of it and leaking vacuum, and the air would always blow warm even with the ac on.

good point, always rule out ducting problems before going into the plumbing
