Well I seriously doubt that thing will fix the problem. Take the car to Ford and see what they can do, could be an error that has somehow written itself to the ecu, also could be a faulty chip, so just take it to Ford, or to a local shop.
i might buy a evap purge solenoid and see if that fixes it. i know several people that work at ford dealers, and they say they replace both the evap valve and solenoid when either of them have trouble. the valve cost 17$ and the solenoid 41$ at dealer cost so naturally i started with the cheapest thing. but i hate just firing parts at the problem.
Well best of luck to ya, hope you get that problem fixed, but I would still take it in to get looked at because the best way to get the problem fixed is to have somebody that knows what they're doing working directly on the problem.
You're more than likely going to be looking at the EVAP canister purge solenoid. An easy way to test it is to apply vacuum to it, and then apply battery voltage to it. When you apply the voltage, you should lose the vacuum. Sometimes you will have it fail intermittently, so just because it tests fine one time doesn't mean it will the next.
took the little thingy out and with 12 volts it cliks on off sometimes so I beat it with a hammer handle and sprayed some silicone into it. It openend and closed fine on the bench,
I pulled the battery wire for a while now I am waiting for the CEL to go on again.
I read that some problems require several driving cycles to work themselves out of the system or for the light to go on again[:'(]
