Default PLEASE READ: Welcome to the V6 General Discussion Section

Ok guys and gals, welcome to the V6 General Discussion Section

This is a place where you can post things about your V6 that isn't tech, stuff like "Washed my car, here are some pics" or "I love my V6 and make hip gyrations in the seat".

Thats being said lets not abuse it, there is still an Off Topic for off topic discussions. This section again is for non-tech discussions regarding your V6. If you have any questions feel free to let me know.

Thanks and enjoy!
Jeff

Hello Jefferson, I am a 60 year old male and have wanted a Mustang since 1965. I'm finally realizing that dream and will take delivery Sat. on a 2009 convertable with a V-6. My test drive was very "tame" due to some nasty weather/road conditions here in Chicago. I'm not interested in top-end speed since I'll be crusing around suburbs 90% of the time where the speed limits range between 25 - 50 MPH but, I do, at times, like to accelerate quickly from 25 - 50 MPH. This is sort of an ambigeous question, more subjective than objective but, will my V-6 210 HP Mustang have good accelertion within that speed range? Will it at least slightly pin me back in the seat?

Thanks for sharing your experience and views.

Hello Dennis, welcome to the site.
On a good dry road, the new Mustang's will push you back in the seat better than many of the previous models.

Fortunately, with the growth of the aftermarket in support of the v6 models, you can always do something to increase that "neck-jerk" on acceleration as well.

While your car doesn't have a high peak horsepower rating, it has some good low end grunt that would be just fine at those lower speeds. That is where torque comes into play, not so much the peak horsepower rating.
