One last thing before I go... Just so you all know i came here posted this not expecting you to like the car but atleast hoping to get some support for goin into a project like this at 17 years old.. I understand its not the fastest thing out there but that can be changed and whats the point of buying a fast car thats got all the nice goodies and modded out the ***? I got this car so i can say i did something pretty substantial. I would like to thank you all who wished me serious luck and support. But I am not appriciating those of you who had nothing better to say than to bash on me.... And for those of you who made the slow comments. The only reason that these cars lost so much power from the early 70s and late 60s engines is due to the smog equipment but since i dont have to do emissions testing i plan on taking those out and freeing up horses.. adding full exhuast, pullies, carb, intake, heads all that sorta stuff will give me big gains... I will repost my final product to let those who supported my project know how it went.... Again thanks to those who supported me... Mustangman, didnt mean to snap back at you, i know you understand why these cars have potential and i plan on unleashing everything i can.. Ive got over 1000 dollars to put into this car after i buy it and i plan on using as much as i can to make it a STREET machine not a track monster.

i would have kept the V6 mustang...unless the camaro would have had a 350...youre at a disadvantage with with the 305. however, a SBC is the most easily modded engine in the free world.

you know, to the OP, i have to say that the attitude really is uncalled for. youre 17 and talking about how youre going to have a fast car at a young age...i too bought an older, slow V8 car (my white car is an 83 dodge) and i have less than 5 grand in the car, and im in the deep 12s, but i also had my dad to teach me things along the way, and i know what im doing. if you want to learn as you go, i might suggest getting rid of the chip on your shoulder. removing the emissions stuff is only going to do so much, as your car, like mine, came with 140 stock horsepower...when i got rid of the emissions computer and 2bbl carb/intake...the best that i was able to get out of the stock 318 (headers, exhaust, intake, carb)...with a mildly built 727 trans and a new rearend with 391 gears was low 15s. i had the option of building the stock engine, but i lucked into a 340, and my parts are oddly matched, but i make a decent amount of power.

a word of advice..take it or not, i dont care...

talk to people who ACTUALLY WORK ON THEIR OWN CARS, and base your mods from what those who ACTUALLY WORK ON, AND RACE their own cars, and youll learn tons more than "what so and so says". my current setup put my 3700lb car into the low 12s, and the guys on mopar forums who "know what they are talking about" insist that my setup wont get me out of the 13s...read and learn, and make your decisions carefully, since youre working on a budget.

oh, and dont take advice from someone who benefits from giving you advice.

there you go again. if people aren't in 100% support of you, you get pissy. enjoy your lunchbox. you went from an ugly stang to a hedious camaro. you should re-read your posts before calling ANYBODY snotty-nosed punks.
I gotta agree with Nanaki. You're getting all pissy about what we're saying, but think about it. You had a decent V6 Mustang and then got a slow, ugly *** Camaro. Did you really expect us to be in favor of a Camaro, unless it's a late model LS1 or something?

Xemeth, No i dont expect you guys to like the Camaro kuz ur mustang fans.. ive seen the egos and opinions from both sides... its nasty lol... But I love Nanaki so much and want him in my bed.. Im not getting pissy kuz people didnt support me.. Im getting "pissy" kuz everyone started bad mouthing it from the get go.. I didnt ask people if they thought the car was ugly.. i was just letting everyone kno where i was headed.

I had a decent V6 yes, but it had its problems, like most cars... I loved my V6 and i will always love Mustangs but I want to move on to a project ive been dreaming of doing. Like i said i had looked at a 68 and 69 Mustang coupe but they sold before i could even get out to look at em.

To the mods who posted. Thanks for your advice guys, i appriciate the calm and level headed advice i am actually a member at camaro forums and found some guys who have modded 2nd gens that are in my area. I know that its not the best engine for power in the world but i changed my ways from power toperformance WITH power along the way.. i want it to perform to my wants/needs. I want it to look good (better than it does kuz now its ugly as snot i know but its original 77, no aftermarket parts as of yet.) Its got potential like i said and i am more than willing to do what it take to have it go faster, but im more interested in sound and appearance.. call me a ricer call me what you will but its becoming a classic if it isnt already considered one. I know the smog wont free up much but it will help flow etc im sure. I have a friend with a 77 z28 that had a 350 and a friend with a 79 with a 305 their my local help. the 77 350 friend put over 400 horses in his engine by himself and he wants to help me. Again i thank the mods for their advice and i will let you all know how it goes in the future.

Well Josh, hope you best of luck again, but here is a good bit of advice, and it's the best "ANYBODY" on here will every give you. STOP, where you're at, RIGHT NOW, do not drop a dime and I mean a dime more than you need to into this car to keep it runing. Why you ask? Simple, it's an old car, and old cars can wear down quickly when turned from yard token to daily driver. In other words, save up and buy something, anything, remotely new, that you can use as your real DD so that your Camaro can be your project car. Serriously, you do not drive a project car as yourone and onlyDD, it never works out well, trust me on this one. I'm doing the same thing, I've put all mods for Salena on hault until I can buy me a new DD, which will just so happen to more than likely be a 97 or new Camaro V6, sorry gus, the Camaro V6 is a little better on a few key things I'm looking at than the stang, sad, but true.

In any since, good luck again.

Yes.. Bumblebee. Is that alright with you guys? I mean Its cool enough for you bad asses?

And Nanaki.. everytime you say somethign that stupid to me, i lose more and more respect for you.. I know you dont care because ur a godly mod and no one can touch you.. but hey, im out of here.. Its not that people arent in100% support of me its that people are being asses (especially you, the biggest *** of all) about it. But whatever. You guys enjoy your cars, enjoy your forums... Ill catch you all later.. maybe if infact for some wild reason this lady gets another offer better than mine and i dont get it and i end up getting a LT1 or LS1 Camaro or maybe even an Edge GT then ill be back.... but i wont be hanging around these forums.. the 6 section is a joke these days... anyway... enjoy like i said..
Aint that the truth.

You will be missed buddy.

And you are?

Reguardless,Jeremy I hear ya bro. I was thinkin the same thing. Maybe a small Ford escort or something.. alil sporty but not hole in the pocket. I could do what you are doing and look for a V6 Camaro or an old 2.3L Fox (hopefully along the lines of a notchback).

Actually a Ford Probe would be a nice little edition sporty, and all around decent, however, I personally wouldn't buy anything older than 15 years unless it has killer miles and is in excellent condition, simply because of the fact that oldercars are so unpredictable as to what may go out next.

Oh, that's not ugly, the 1979 Thunderbird my dad is looking at buying as my temporary second car as well as his and my moms, that's butt ugly, that Camaro looks like a god send compared to that Thunderbird.
