Cruise Control Button Removal
Hello guys, I'm missing the left cruise control button and was wondering if they just snap off or do I have to take everything apart? I want to go buy aftermarket buttons so do the buttons just snap on and off? Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks in advance![sm=smiley16.gif]

RE: Cruise Control Button Removal
I really want to put the stock cover back on because im not a huge fan of the aftermarket ones either but if it's too much hassle I'd rather not. So my question is, do these buttons snap on and off or do you have to take it all apart. Thanks in Advance!

There air two bolts in the back of the steering wheel, they hold the airbag in. Disconnect the battery and wait about 10 minutes before you do any of this or you will die. Remove the airbag, and you will see where the CC switches ount up. You can get a whole new set of switches off of EBay for about $25. ON the sides where the wires cross to each other and you can't figure out how they got the connecter through that hole, you bend the plastic back and the wires slide in. It's sounds wierd but when you look at it, you'll know exactly what i mean.

It's really easy, I did it 3 days ago as a matter of fact. The book recommends 2 minutes, but if you've ever seen an airbag go off, I'd say give it a little more time just to be safe, that's why I recommend 10 minutes.

Sweet man, I went out and checked the steering wheel and found the holes to disassemble so it looks easy enough. Yes, I've witnessed and airbag going off, not pretty to say the least! Thanks Again! Take Care!

No less than 10 minutes, gotcha. I'm going to be doing this to my sixer today and wanted to know the amount of time I needed to make sure that airbag doesn't go off on me!

If you're just replacing the stock black on/off button, it pops off. there's a slot for a flat head driver on the left side of the button.. you can go to a junk yard and get a new one for like a dollar- that's what I did.
