gears and posi sound like good ideas. originally i didnt want to do that because of my highway driving but i dont do that much anymore. i dont have the money for h/c/i yet. GOOD GEARS? GOOD POSI? ANYONE KNOW A GOOD SHOP IN MD?

just got two quotes.
one from a local shop for 1400$
and one from cj pony parts for 700$

Your local shop is crazy the cj quote sounds about right. If it was me though if buy a cheap notch get a 350 go through it do a h/c/i build gas it and do the rear and minimal suspension and you could have a decent track car for ~5k
