Default 01 V6 stang bucking

My wife's sixer is running terrible. It is bucking like crazy/sputtering and making a ticking sound. It has good oil pressure, it almost sounds like it is not firing on all of the cylinders. I just changed the plugs but that did not help. Any suggestions? Thanks. O yeah, the service engine light was on when this happened, so I bought new plugs and reset the SES. The light hasnt come back on but it still runs terrible.

I checked the coil and it seems to be working fine. I checked it by pulling off one wire at a time and you could see the spark jumping in all of them. The CEL will not come back on at the moment. I drove the car around for about 10 minutes and nothing, the car would run like absolute junk but I can't get the CEL to come back on so I can pull the codes. Any help???

Might want to replace the fuel filter and make sure the spark is reaching the plugs.

I took it to the dealer today and they are telling me that I am going to need a new enigne. I am not too sure the details but the car only has 76k miles on it. No smoke or anything of that sort.

Find out exactly why it needs a new engine. And what year is the car?
