Well my buddies got an '02 sixxer. Right now he's got the MAC cat back on it, and within the next few days he's buying an 8.8, ca's, and wants to do headers and a midpipe. My question is will a midpipe off a v8 car fit since he's going to have true duals and what not? or are there differences in the lengths? Help is greatly appreaciated, thanks!

The Gt from the same model years will fit but need to be modified by a muffler shop. or ur friend could go and let the shop fab a mid pipe..it maybe cheaper that way.
Wrong if he,s gettin long tubes a gt shorty midpipe off the same model will fit as well a gt catback tell him not to get shorties they are a waste of money no gain what so ever nothing will need to be modified it will all bolt up
Here for the fun of it is a list of parts requird and others optional for a long tube setup
Required
Headers(long)
Shorty midpipe from 99-04 gt
Catback of choice from 99-04
O2 extenders(1 pair)
Mil elims (1 pair)
Exhaust hangers from 99-04 gt (to include both muffler and tip hangers)
Optional
Locking header bolts
Header gaskets (stock ones can be reused if not damaged)
He also didn't say he wasn't and yes there is a difference stock but he isn't getting stock parts if say you be hard pressed to find aftermarket exhaust parts smaller than 2.5 unless you get something that went and the stock V6
well sounds like hes serious with his car and you should let him know to get the right stuff the first time, which would be the longtube setup.
MAC Longtubes
MAC O/R H pipe
high flow cats, if needed in your state for emissions, need to be welded into the h pipe
any GT catback
a pair of o2 sensor extendors
and if he doesnt already, he should get a tuner. it can turn off the rear o2 sensors that will throw a code. if not he can get MIL eliminators
also instead of buying an aftermarket GT catback you could try and pick up the catback off of a 99-04 GT, alot cheaper
