Default What is a good dual exhuast set up

Hey, I just bought a 2004 3.8L V6
I love the sound of a classic muscle car, i know a V6 will never sound near as good as a V8, but i do want to purchase dual exhuast for my new stang!

My local muffler shop offered this:
Flowmaster 40's with 3x12 tips
for 450$, including labor

also im having them put in an x pipe, i think ill choose the "off brand" for about 40$ this would splice in after the converters where it Y's together

like i said i want the old muscle car sound, not the ricer sound, but i dont want it to be annoying, i do have to drive alot on highway to college so id like to go to class w/o a head ache !! lol

Ive listened to what video's on youtube that i can of different exhuast systems but obviously none of them have perfect sound quality so its hard to tell for sure what it sounds like.

Id like some advice on which set ups I could purchase to create that rumble! Around my small town its hard to fing people with a v6 mustang with aftermarket D exhuast so i cant hear anything in person ...

Is that flow master setup going to be want i want ? Or what would you recommend ?
Thank You All!!!!

If you want your six to have a deep sound then either go with an h pipe or straight pipes through some flow 40s. The x pipe gives more of an extoic sound and the h a deeper.

$450 is a litte steep but not that bad. I would go true duals or h pipe no x. I'm very happy with my 40's and dual setup, just wish it was louder after having it awhile.

I have flowmaster divorced duals (straight pipes basically with cats) and it sounds great, no ricey tone. my car has no emblems on the fenders so everyone thinks its a gt, ha
