Default i have a problem..fuel, transmission???

hey guys i have a question

my car will randomly cut out, loose power, rpms drop, under wot. the car starts fine, idles fine, drives fine around town but when i floor it the car will just cut out and make a whining noise, i have to let off the gas for a second and then the car will drive fine again.
it does it randomly too, the last two days i was flooring it on the country roads and it shifted fine, no cutting out.
I took it for a drive just now and it did it again. it seems to happen during higher rmps too.
no codes or anything.

so to recap, car will randomly cut out under wide open throttle, the rmps drop and car makes a whining noise and will stop when i let off the gas.
what could it be?

I have heard of this, but only once on this site and it was a while back, long while back. If memory serves me right it was either some type of sensor that plugs into the auto tranny, or the syncros for that tranny. I'd bet syncros because you're gears aren't sinking in the high rpms causing the grinding noise and the car to stall out, slow down tranny sinks and shifts allowing the car to keep moving.
