Now I've come over an old carburated 302 and I'm considering a swap. Ive got the transmition and it just needs cleaned up. Is there anything I need to know before starting the swap. Anything would be greatly helpful.

Thinking of doing a conversion to a carburated 302. Any thoughts?

Unless its a completely built H/C/I its not worth it. A stock 5.0 from 95 only put out 20 more hp than your v6 does now.

Yeah, but a stock 95 puts out a crap ton more torque and has a lot more potential than the V6 as well as being cheaper to mod.

Now with that said, if you had a 94/95 I'd say that a swap wouldn't be that bad of an idea, but for anything 96+ you're looking at a ton of headaches and challenges to the swap, not mention going to carb on anything 96 or later is illegal to drive it on the street.

A carbed motor, while cool, just doesn't perform the same as a fuel injected and do require more long term maintenance. Only bennefit is you can bypass most of the electrical needs of fuel injection.

If you wanna do a V8 swap then go to ebay, look up 03 Cobra engine, there is a place selling the entire Cobra coversion kit, everything you need to do the swap. It will cost you around $10,000 for the parts and probably a month or two of work. However in the end you're car will make 390 bhp and will retain all the stock driving features you enjoy now.
