3.55's yes......3.90's...maybe if it is an auto.....

3.55's are the best street gear for a T5ed street car with 200+hp. With a turbo...wouldn't go lower (higher number) unless your car is capable of 7K rpms all day long

Ehh it depends on more then that, where your building boost is a factor. Some pull of a 390 bt most stick w/ 55-73

anyways off topic

I don't know how you guys aren't getting high 20s low 30s (highway) out of your sixers. I've had a couple motors tucked between my fenders and have always pulled much better MPG than my V8s.

Not keeping up on maintenance, erratic acceleration or decel, a bunch of hills.....lots of possibilities why....The driver is the biggest reason....

1 big is auto v 5speed. Our auto's are just pure **** for mpg. A good tune up would help 75% of the people w/ bad mileage. And yes driving the v6 a little nicer and not acting like its a bad *** mustang would help

Pretty much stock I did like 16c 18hw on 3.73s

stock wasn't much better. But thats PRETTY ****TY but also out of an automatic.

Friend has built 2000 GT, high compression pistions, forged, cammed, P&P, 5speed, 4.10 gears, LTs O/R exhuast, blah blah blah blah performance out the ***. Anyways V8 + **** ton performance + 4.10 gears and he still gets 25mpg on the highway..... running mid/high 12's on engine in the 1/4 on sreet tires ... Full suspension blah blah ...

A properly maintained GT usually gets better mpg then a 3.8 V6 ... the mpg excuse is BS and you'll realize that the more you get around these cars ...
Automatic, Cammed, 4:10s, worked heads, full exhaust and tuned, I still get over 20 highway... city, only checking it once was like 16... your right foot is your enemy lol

my car with stock gears but tuned with full exhaust got 28 highwayand 21 city... and that's averaging 80 for 3 hours straight.

a relatively stock (at the time) autotragic v6 with 4:10s and 275s on the back? I didn't even launch it much lol, it kept 'breaking' spider gears for some reason. problem solved now though

Agreed, not even close. Driven every generation, 4 6 and 8 cyl. If you want it close w/o breaking the bank, re gear and blow it.

I have a 2012 V6 3.7ltr, with a Cold Air Intake, BBk Long Tube Headers, Xpipe, Magnaflow exhaust, new lower control arms, upgraded to 3.73 gears, with a Ford Racing Limited Slip Differential and beat a new stock 2012 5.0 GT off the line to the next stop light. And roasting tires is NOT a problem.
