Fuel Tank Placement

Fuel Tank Placement
Hi, I am looking at a 2002 Mustang and while during my research, I came across this article and would like to know if this is still an issue.

Thanks.

That info is not only wrong, but out dated.
The Mustang has always exceded Federal safety standards when it comes to rear.
Personally (as a street and track driver), I'm happy the fuel tank is in the back. I don't want it right under my butt if I were hit hard enough to have it catch fire. It's much safer back there than close to the passanger cabin and vulnerable to side impact. These cars take a front/rear hit much better than a side hit.
