Definitely get the 4.6. I have had both, and the 4.6 is decades better than the cologne v6. Literally. If you want good mpgs, buy a 5spd and do the driver mod (become a hypermiler). Too be accurate, I had the cologne v6 but the Essex v6 isn't any better.

depends what you wanna do with the car i guess... i am a huge motor head speed freak and i bought a 2005 v6 5 speed vert knowing its never gonna become a race car ...lol

my 79 f150 got way out of hand to the point its not much of a good cruising vehicle anymore, if i had a v8 stang it would end up in the same situation i like to call it the snowball effect .... having the v6 will keep me at bay with going stupid with power mods

can you share the cost you're looking at (v6 + GT)?

It all depends on your insurance company and where you live

I don't know what Insurance company you guys use, but when I checked quotes for my mustang, all 99-04 mustangs were the same price. Didn't matter if it was a V6 or a GT or any other.

I'd pick the V8, you'll always regret not getting it, and to me that's killer.
