Looking for a 94-2000 Mustang for Godson.
My Godson, just got his Learner's permit, and in 6 months will probably roadtest for his license.
I wanna get him a Mustang, V6, Auto. It has been a long time since I have driven or even thought about possible issues regarding these model years.
There is a 2000 Vert for $1500 in W. Philly that needs Power Window motors which are a pretty easy fix, but since I don't keep a car past 60,000 miles, and this one has 160k on it. I am trying to get some ideas of other issues I should be concerned about.
Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

On a 2000, the thing I'd look at would be the passanger side exhaust manifold. They tend to crack when the A/C condensation drips of them. Not a hard fix at all. Junkyard swap or pull off the stock part and weld it.
Other than that, they are pretty good cars as long as they're cared for. Look for typical things (odd tire wear, odd ticks in the motor, oil in coolant / coolant in the oil etc...)

I work as an FDA Consent Decree Consultant, and I am also a filmmaker. Plus I abuse the hell out of my cars. I treat'em like Red Headed step children. I do the maintenance, clean'em up... I take care of it as my driving habits would require... but by the time they hit 30-40,000 miles I would consider them having closer to 150-200,000 miles from the abuse on the drive train alone.
I ended up finding him a car, wasn't a Mustant though... found a 1995 V6 Camaro, in white with 92k on the Odometer. An older man in Maryland, sold it to me for $2550.00. The thing is showroom new condition.
Picking it up Wednesday...
I looked at a lot of 94-2000 Mustangs yesterday, and I couldn't find anything that was taken care of in a decent price range. Most treated them like I treat mine. but didn't take the extra special care of the body and interior. (I try and keep mine looking as pristine as possible.)

My films are low budget indies about 11,000 and under. but they make some money. 2 were zombie films, one is a gangster film with some of the barksdale crew from The Wire playing leads.
