Basically what the title says. I've got an 04 V6 and will be getting a custom fabricated exhaust done by a friend who does it for a living later in the summer. Just curious as to whether or not it would be worth it to spend some extra $$$ for a CAI

CAI will be minimal, but if you get the car tuned with the CAI it will make a difference.

The cheap eBay CAI will gain you the same as the high dollar ones, as the gains will be in the filter and/or tune not in the tube

You will not be able to use your friends tuner. Tuners lock themselves to one car. The only way for you to use it is if your buddy loads back his stock tune. Then he wouldn't be able to use the tuner after you do since it will lock to your car.

A tuner is a great thing to have if your going to be modding your car, its well worth the investment.
