Custom Axle back muffler delete, I need help!
I am new to the world of cars and i came here for some answers!
Recently I called a reputable local exhaust shop and asked if they could do a straight pipe mod for my 2014 V6. They man said he'd charge me 100 bucks for the whole thing. Problem is, he said they'd have to cut up my stock muffler and weld the straight pipe. I don't really want to mess with the stock mufflers because id like to keep them in the attic for possible future use. And, i don't want to have to un-weld the new system in order to re-install the old mufflers.
I was wondering, is there anyway i can purchase a set of two, ball and socket connectors and give them the female portion to weld onto the new straight pipes?
Id like to make it like an aftermarket exhaust setup where it is attached just with the ball and socket connectors and a clamp.
I need to purchase a 2.25" ball and socket connector and take them to the shop so they can weld it onto their own pipe.
This is the peice I'm looking for

Specifically the "female" portion.
Will any general 2.25 inch ball and socket fit the stock exhaust "male" portion of my 2014 mustang, or must it be a ford specific part?
Sorry for the lack of correct car terminology, I'm new to this stuff! Have a great day!
