Throughout the forums you see what CAI everyone recommends, usually C&L. But I don't want to spend the money on the tuner. So I'm looking for anyone who has purchased the AFE CAI to post your opinions. Particularly, did your stang preform like it needed to be tuned. Do you think it added the 12+- HP as advertised? Are you happy with the product in general? Install problems etc. Tell us everything!!

It would be helpfull to the those who have not purchased a CAI yet if we could start threads like this relating to every model CAI. But for this thread please restrict comments to AFE CAI only.

the AFE is pretty good for what you pay for, it truly does give gains of 12hp though

I used to have it and was very pleased with it. No tune required and I noticed an improvement in response and top end. Afixer also dyno'd it for a 11 or 12 HP gain SAE.

na i just got home from knotts show and was lookin around. the dyno sheet is crummy and im not even sure if that was the right one i had so many. all i know was I WAS THERE. when they dynoed my car we also took my stock air box and put it on a air flow machine it moved about 117 cfm he then put the afe on it and it moved like 220 cfm thats a buttload of air. the first unit tripped my CEL after 400 miles. i went back and the changed the tube and 3000 miles later no prob. after 1000 miles i re dynoed the car and retweeked the tune due to the masive air. so tril sorry to bitch but dude i was there and it does what it says. dont know what you know but i saw it.

tri just noticed you changed you post. thanks thats cool . im not trying to start anythin and i dont get anything from afe. iand i got mine for free so if i wanted somthing better i could sell this one and use the mony to get somthing else but im very happy with it. anyway peace!

bummer is i just went to the afe site my dyno was one the site but they must have removed it. ill call tomarro and find out
