Does anyone recommend this one... i noticed on v6mustangstuff.com it is 199.99 is that a good price for a t-lok??? or can i do better somewhere else.. also how much would it cost for installation? and should i go to a mustang specific shop for the t-lok or is that just for gear installation?

I just bought mine from the Ford dealer, I think it was 189, or 220. I bought the 3.73 and t loc, the total was 440 including tax. I am also going to have Ford install it, they quoted me 320 to 450 for the install depending on problems with shimming or something. I could probably get it done much cheaper somewhere else, but if something goes wrong down the road, they will be responsible. I didn't see much variance in price from one place to the next, so I figured if I just ordered it from them, they couldn't blame and problems with it on a disreputable seller. Good luck either way. the guys at v6mustangstuff are pretty cool.

I bought my from v6mustangstuff , had the dealer install. I was told by service tech, that factory rep said ford parts, ford intstall, ford warrenty. So that pretty much closed the deal. I've got the t-lock with the 3.73 gears on an automatic. Rpm's at 65mph are about 2200. The launch from a stop is impressive for a v6, and the acceleration is great, expecially up in the power band, between 2000 and 4000 rpms. The miles per gallon average is 19.4 mpg, and thats mostly city driving, with a heavy foot.

Might be more if you dont have dual batteries, extra antenna's and leave your windows up and the ac off ...

I'am glad I didn't go for the 4.11 gears, they would have been too tall, and knocked down my upper end while driving hiway.

I did notice more gear wine at first, but the tech told me to expect that with ford racing gears, and that they take longer to break end.

After abouty 5k, I'll get the 95-140 weight royal purple gear lube put in the rear end, that should quite them down.

i dont have any gear wine with my ford gears. by the way, the recommended weight is 75-140, id probably stick with that if i were you. no point in going with royal purple, the ford stuff is synthetic too.

can u order the ford t-lock thru ford?? lol... im asking this cause for example.. if u know someone working there can i order it using their ford discount 2 save some cash???

It doesn't matter if the part is made by ford and a ford person installs it. If it causes a problem it is still an aftermarket part and wont be covered by warranty.
