I want to buy a CAI or a high performance intake, i was looking at the ones on this site: http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/05AirFuel.htm Which would probably be the best performance wise, without having to tune it?

AFE has the biggest claims, K&N is probably up there without needing a tune, cant beat almost 8rwhp without tuning it. but it doesnt flow very much so if ur going to be doin a tuner eventually, id get the afe.

Because there's no such article about the V6. And because I assume at least some of them are offered in both configurations.

yes, but the gains are all going to be different.
without a tune your best bet is the AFE (looks cheesey), MMR (again cheesy) K&N (full intake not just the air filter like the others).
With a tune, the TI or C&L arer your best bet.

Fair enough, oh, I got a question for you in the same veign:

I too intend to buy a CAI, so what's the best one that's street legal in CA? And do the best ones really require a tune, and what are the disadvantages of said tune (warrenty wise and such)?

My goal is a combination of better performance and better mpg, and i want to stay with normal fuel.

So what's your rec?

K&N is the only one I believe has a C.A.R.B. legal # for CA, it sucks that the options are limited for us, just take off before smog test

ya, K&N is your only real choice, but other than that, the Tuneable induction kit with a tune is the way to go.

I just installed my Airaid intake this weekend am am very happy with it so far. Car seems more responsive and my Ford Racing exhaust sounds a little meaner.
