Default power handling

how much power will the 7.5" rear end hold up too. im aiming for 400+ (deep pockets)
-i looked into the 8.8" rear end and currie 9" rear ends

stock driveshaft
-i looked into the powerhouse shaft for an alternative

stock manual transmission and clutch.
-what transmissions will bolt up to our 4.0L's i was looking at the t-56 tremec viper transmisson, but not sure if anything willl work on the 4.0l blocks.

i know what am i doing to the suspension to beef it up, well actually indepent front a arm system from control freaks and bmr subframe connectors, panhard bar, control arms, strut tower bar, installing coilover conversion to the rear.

im contacting supersixmotorsports.com about what kinda of work they can do to get me boost ready. for a vortech or paxton supercharger setup.

Rygen and I put a ton of torque through our 7.5's.... I was hitting mine with close to 500 ft/lbs on the 125HP shot... BUT... we are both automatics... Automatics are easier on things... Also, neither of us were running slicks... So to answer the OP question... it's really going to depend... if you plan on 400RHWHP and dropping the clutch at 5000RPM with slicks... well... the 7.5 might not hold up so good... LOL! But if you are doing 400RWHP on street tires... then the 7.5 might hold up ok... LOL

thanks for the reply guys. Its definetly a project i am going to be doing, and trying to gain a little more respect for us 4.0liters. im only 17 so i have barely any bills to pay well except for the car and gas but in doing this project i think I might build up the motor with some forged pistons, ported heads, head studs, i already have the dual h pipe exhaust and im going to be getting high flow cats and headers, possibly electronic cut out. Its going to be a daily driven car and on 20's and street tires. i might be getting slicks for the track but probably not till i drop in an 8.8" rear end.

if you get the T56 for the previous Gen,mustnag cobras, you can get a bellhousing that willbolt up.. our transmission have split bellhousings. the bellhousings seperate from the transmission, which means you can either get a custum bellhousingmde,or if im not mistaken, acompany already makes one tomatch our motors bellhouse bolt pattern, and the transmission itself..

then youll need a tune to calibrate everything

i thought about going with a t56 too.. but at 3grand , icant really afford it
