RE: Track Times & Dyno #'s - 4.0L
I was unable to scan in my best time slip (it's just too faint to read), but here is the data from my trip to Cecil County Dragway on 9.23.2006:[ul][*] R/T 0.125[*] 60' 2.184[*] 1/8 9.682 @ 72.60mph[*] 1/4 15.062 @ 91.32mph
[/ul]
On my 4.0/auto, I am presently running a C&L CAI intake, an Evolution Performance 93 Extreme tune, and a GT take-off muffler. Although I was hoping for high 14's, I am still VERY happy with how my vert did my first time at the track in 20 years! Traction was an issue for me, and I need more practice with my launch. I'm THIS CLOSE to being in the 14's, so I hope to get more runs in to experiment with different launch techniques. Regardless, I want to get 3.73:1 gears and an LSD for the car in the near future.
Forum banter is fun, but it pales in comparison to going out to the track with your forum-friends in search for the lowest ET's posible with our cars. WADDA BLAST!!!

RE: Track Times & Dyno #'s - 4.0L
Ok first time at the track. Will be going back next saturday and desperatly want to hit 14's. What can I do. IThese times are the two best I got. After these the track got real slick and I could not go with out spinning. Hell even my driver side tire spun rubber on my fenders, and I do not have a LSD. Anyway any suggestions would be appreciated.

I also went back to the track saturday and knocked off a 14.3281@94.53, N/A auto on drag radials. Had a lot of wind and alot of spin on launch.. but I bettered my old time by more then a tenth!!
Chad, did you change your fuel filter and put in mobil one? Try the bosch platinum 4 spark plugs, that is what I use.

RE: Track Times & Dyno #'s - 4.0L
I havent changed the spark plugs nor the fuel filter. I am running royal purple oil though. Is the fuel filter under the car like most new cars? Any special tools needed or just an open end wrench?

Its under the floor on the drivers side , bolted to the frame rail.. If you look under the car right below the middle of your door you will see a black plastic sheild that is about 2 feet lond and attached with a few smal bolts. right behind that is the fuel filter. You will need a socket wrench to remove the bracket that holds the fuel filter , but the filter itself is attached to the fuel ine with quick disconnect fittings. Push in on the green part. The only place I can find the filter right now is at ford 18.99
