confused about the c&l??
i got a question. everyone says to go with a intake that requires a tune, but the c&l says it doesnt require a reflash??? im confused because i ordered the bbk which is identical to every spec, looks identical but is 120 less and it says it doesnt require a tune either.... so why does everyone say c&l is the best? does anyone have experience with the bbk?

RE: confused about the c&l??
Until I see some back-to-back dynos, I'm going to stick with my suspicion that the reason the C&L "requires a tune" is because it has an oversized MAF housing, which throws the MAF signal off and must be compensated for. I could be wrong, though.
Since Justin at VMP found there's not even any real restriction in the stock rubber hose, I just don't see how a bigger CAI pipe could make any real difference...

The CAI's that do not require a tune, but also can be installed with a Xcal2 (or Dialblo) and custom tune to get the maximum HP gain, will probably have some sort of flow restrictor in the standard tube that lets the intake work without a custom tune.
It gets removed to get the full benefit of the intake when you install a custom tune.

this is all stuff i've learned from asking others the same question. if you already ordered than you already ordered. not much you can do. but i've got my eyes set on the C&L and tune from brenspeed

if ur automatic then i would deffinetly go with alternative autos tune. i got the tuner for 420 shipped and the intake for 190 shipped.. 610 aint too bad.. but im stoked to see what results imma get!
