Default Exhaust Rattle

I've read where many owners have been having problems with their exhaust rattling, especially after they have duals installed.
So far, I have not had any problems.....knocking on wood!

I think any rattles from exhaust would have to come from a bad installation. Ur mechanics/installer probably didn't tighten something all the way or clamp something he had to clamp. The dash area I think might be a Ford recall, and u could probably get that fixed for free or it might have to do with u having a stock driveshaft, at what mph/rpm do u have the rattle?

It's not a dash rattle, it just sounds like it is coming from the dash/shifter area. My dealership fought with it for 4 trips to the service center, it got better but not gone and they only thing that helped was when they messed with the exhaust.

Ford tech is coming Monday to the dealership to take a shot at it.

Did they check theexhaust hangersfor the Y-pipe? There's a TSB for those getting loose and causing a center stack rattle. The TSB calls for putting large hose clamps over them to kill the rattle.

Yep they did that and it helped ALOT but it's still there. Now it's only there when you slow down right before you stop, and ever so often it comes back for a second then leaves.

I have a 2004 E-350 Van that has had exhaust rattles for so long it drives me crazy. Nothing has been modified and I took it to Ford many, many times and they did various things but it always comes back. Now that the vehicle is not under warranty, it seems like it's worse than ever. It only happens when you give it gas. When I hear it, I let up off the pedal and it stops.....could this be something else? Also since they know about the problem and it's still a problem, will they cover it even if it's not under warranty? Sorry for being off topic.

Sound's like the exhaust is loose. U need to take it to someone who will either tighten the clamps already on it, put more clamps on it(stronger one's), or just replace all the clamps and see if that's it.

Thanks SteelStang05, I think I may get the shop that installed my duals to take a look at it.
