Yes, very newbie question but is it 6 just like the GT? I know we need SW-30 though. Looked through the manual and saw nothing. Also, are the oil filters interchangeable? I want to go with Mobil 1 (M1-210)

I use Mobil 7500 mile synthetic oil. I always use 6 quarts when I change it. I always replace the oil filter with a K&N everytime as well.

i use mobil 1 full synthetic every 3k miles, but i've only been putting in 5 quarts.......should i be putting in 6?

5 qts is what the owner's manual says. GT is 6 qts. You always want to change the filter when you change the oil. Filters are somewhat to specific to each model of car. I use a Bosch 3410(?) filter and Mobil 1 5W-30.

I put half a quart in the new oil filter before putting it into place. Then about 5 quarts in after I'm done. So I say 6 actually...

It's about 5. It's really not that difficult. Put in 4, check the dipstick and top it off with the fifth.

Gotta be careful with too much oil. 5 qts with new filter, 4 qts with full old filter left in place is Spec. if you put 6 in you may be overloading oil pressure guidlines and blow seals...(more oil in the pan does increase oil pressure)..Also will void warranty on oil related damage if they pull 6 qts out after you tow it to the dealer for warranty replacement...

Just don't put too much in. Won't hurt anything to have it not quite plum full, but having it too full is a different story. Owner's manual says 5, I'd stick with that.

EDIT: the spec sheet from ford actually says 4 quarts, and 1 quart with the filter, for a total of 5 quarts. http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/3/...ng%20Specs.pdf

i always do 5 quarts of 5w 30 royal purple, with a new k&n oil filter every time
