Hey everyone, i dont know much about exhaust. But i currently have a dual setup. The muffler shop just turned it into a y-pip and added the second muffler/tip. As I am learning more and more, i would like to know the difference between the X-pipe and H-pipe for my v6, or will it even make a difference? Thanks

I don't think it's overlooked so much as it's just so rare to see (let alone hear) that set up on a 6. I'd love to hear that though, having side exhaust is something I've always fantasized about having on my car

i guess your right ive never seen on another 6er, but i have seen it on 2 gts. ill try to get a video today. i think my computers microphone is decent.

X-Pipes are freer flowing and supposedly give better gains as a result, but if they do it's minimal. H-Pipes generally provide a deeper sound than the X's

^Yeah I purposely chose the custom H over buying an X. Not only is it cheaper (shop fabricated it for no extra cost) but I wanted the best sound possible rather than the "best performance" possible. Those clips on the first page are pretty accurate for the H sound. I'm running dual Flowmaster A/T's and my interior sounds like that first H pipe video. Here's an exterior:
