Shift stops are not necessary since the T5 has built in shift stops. I have an MGW and after two weeks it's much smoother than the Hurst I had before and makes no noise at all. As a matter of fact it shifts more smoothy than it did stock and with about 25% shorter throw at that.

I would hope that MGW would shift better than stock lol. No like trying to shift a crowbar through bricks

Like most of the others the hardest time I had was removing the old shifter. I have mine set to 7 turns and I like it.

The only thing I would stress is the point in the instuction where it talks about the shifter pivoting freely with the transmission (step 6). It was strange at first. Just after shifting gears I can feel the shifteralmost surging back and forth. I called George cause I was concerned I F'd something up. That is the movement the was speaking about.

Good luck on the install. Did you get a new shift **** as well or stick with the stock ****?

I started with the stock then got tired of it in about 2 days. Went ahead and upgraded to the MGW black classic ball assembly with the satin chrome (just like the pic on their website). Looks much better I think.
