Default Duals Installed

I installed jba mids, ford racing mufflers, I dont know what they're called, they have ford racing on the tips...

anyway... I had them installed "tight" to the bumper, but they were bumping the bumper and even melting alittle plastic, so now i have the much lower... Im not satisfied with the look, so Im gonna put a new rear bumper, mainly due to me scaring the rear bumper with the garage door. ( i was pissed about that goof). So be kind about how "low" the pipes are. I also have them sticking out more than most folks.. but i wanted to be able to see the "ford racing logo".

also, i thought i would add a couple comments about the comparison of exhaust setups that i have had on this car.

STOCK SETUP- no ***** at all, weak sound, poor non-sports car look. Scale on 1-10= Looks 2, sound 2.

GT TAKE OFF SINGLE- pretty much same as stock v6 setup, just a tiny bit louder, not worth the time it took to put it on. Scale on 1-10= Looks 3, Sound 3. (cost- 50 bucks)

FLOWMASTER AMERICAN THUNDER SINGLE- this has a loud sound, way different than the stock stuff, really screams when you stomp on it, however, definitely not a v8 sound, but would turn some heads. Nice polished tip with flowmaster logo. Looks 6, Sound 6. (cost 180 bucks)

DUAL H/PIPE FORD RACING "STINGERS"- now we're talking. Nice rumble at idle, when driving at a steady speed, not that loud, but when you stomp it, it lets you know it means business. Has a muscle car sound, might even pass as v8, Definitely sounds better than stock gt. Scale on 1-10= Looks 8.5, Sound 8.5. (cost- 879.00)

Flowmasters sound like a v8 at low rpms...but at high rpms it definitely doesn't.

And I love the loud

flowmaster does not sound like v8 at low rpms.... it sounds loud, but ricey or like a hole in muffler.... im not hating, ive had this exhaust setup, im just being honest...if you think the flowmaster sounds like a v8, you would think the duals sound like a v12

Ok, you got the pics, what about a sound clip???

I've been running the Flowmaster AT for a little under a year I think and I like it soundwise - I do think at higher RPM's it gets a little ricey and the fitment isn't good so it rattles/vibrates and it HATE that!!! Plus it's rusting already

So right now I've got a line on a set of GT takeoffs. I'm seriously considering those plus and then when I get a deal on the pypes V6 dual conversion setup ****** that up and bam I've got duals. I've heard a lot of good comments on this setup.....are you saying I'm going to be disappointed with that setup?

yeah, ill post a sound clip....

as far as gt duals, they will look better than the single muffler anyday of the week....

gt mufflers are mild, very mild, thats why gt owners change them out the first chance they get.... they are alittle bit louder than the stock v6 muffler. The flowmaster you already have is much louder than the GT take offs....

give me a few minutes, ill post you a sound clip...

jd

EDIT: by the way, my comparisons that you read above where for a GT single, not dual.... scroll up and read
