Default antenna

I know you can make or antennas shorter so I have a few questions
1. how easy is it
2. what are the directions on doing it
3. does it hurt reception

also what lengths have you done

I don't have a problem with my tiny antenna and reception but I live in a tight area. I don't see aftermarket antenna's below 8" so that I think would be a safe minimum.

Used a dremel to cut it down to 14". Just mark with tape where you want to make the cut. Very easy, took all of 20 seconds. reattach ball tip with crazy glue/ instant cement. No loss of reception.

Looks like the 2010 Mustang will have a shorter antenna and positioned in the back;
