Top Speed / Removing Speed Limiter
#23
Even if you have a GT it is almost impossible to find a stretch of road clear enough to get up there. You're covering 2 miles in a minute at 120mph. Very hard to find highway that is deserted, smooth, with no merging traffic or on-ramps.
I've found a few solitary stretches in the desert where I've gotten up to 123 mph in a quick burst of speed, but the hood shakes too much too make that comfortable for more than a few seconds.
I've found I'm much more concerned with my Mustang's 0-60 speed than its top speed. If I ever get the chance I'll probably be getting an electric sports car. They have great acceleration but will drain the batteries quickly at top speeds.
I know gas is back under $2. Maybe that's why we're seeing more people interested in burning up $$$ again.

what safety does the gt has that allows it to go 135 stock that the v6 doesn't have?
tires? the same pirellis
brakes? almost everyone has gt take off's
driveshaft? if is can hold 115 with 3.73 gears, i'm pretty sure it can hold 135 with stock gears.
definitely i don't recommend going over 135, been there doesn't not look nice at all, the smallest fly could kill you.. once i replace stock driveshaft with the aluminum one, i'll like to take off that speed limiter.

and to get the limiter off you can buy a tune or I don't know if ford will do this but my grandpa has a BMW and he bought high performance tires and they just took of the limiter at the dealership

You may not give a damn about your lives, but have a little consideration for those around you. You have no idea the dynamics involved in travel at those speeds.

that's why i wouldn't run my car unless there was no one else out on the road.
