I got my first Mustang at 19. It was a 1965 triple black convertible, 289 V8, 4 barrel carb, 3 speed stick. I had to tow it home after paying the seller $50. Pulled the heads and had them rebuilt, put a new clutch in, corrected the spark plug wires (seller had replaced them but had them on wrong so it was backfiring when I picked it up). Did a quick tune up and fired it up. The seller saw me a week later and asked what I did to it to get it running.
I drove it while attending college, kept it another 2 years then the frame started to sag (the floor of the early Mustangs had a problem with rotting away and then the car sagged). Sold it for $450 - although I kept and still have the tri bar fender badges; I wish now that I would have kept the 289 V8 badge off the front of the fenders.

I'll jump in because I'm a post *****
16 for the first 1983 white w/black stripes black leather interior all power options for the time GT-5.0 5-speed paid $1100 cash had 152,000 on the odo*older bro blew the headgasket up doing a narly burnout ending up parting it out, made more than I paid for it in the end*
25 for the second which was the 06 4.0 in my cardomain rides page*traded in on 5/15/09 for the 2010 I currently have. Which if it all works out will be traded in on a 2011/2012 depending on what Ford does with the ecoboost engine option price wise and the new 3.7 powerwise. And yes the wife has allready ok'd next years model as long as it has more power and I pick a color we both like which means I'll probally switch back to torch red or maybe grabber blue lol
edit yes I have the best wife any man could ask for if only she made more money

I m 43 and just bought my 06 GT in February. I had friends that had mustangs back in my teens and always loved their cars, they just never filled the need like a truck did at the time. Now I drive a company truck an 08 tundra all week and really wanted something different to drive on the weekends and also something that i could play with as far as mods go and the mustang was an easy choice. I have only had it for 5 months but have enjoyed every minute with it from driving it to working on it.
