Question Speedometer & Fuel Gauge Went Stupid

Sorry I mis-spelled Stupid

A few months ago, my fuel gauge went wacko, ending up in a different spot everyday regardless of how much gas I really had (i.e. like it points straight down, not even in the fuel zone). I have a 2005, V6 Mustang. Then, on really cold mornings, my speedometer started sticking at zero. I stopped and restarted the car, then the speedometer would work fine.

Now this hot, sunny morning, the speedometer was stuck at 40 as I crept out of the neighborhood - so I can't blame the problem on the cold anymore.

I called the dealer and he said (without looking at it), it would be upwards of $600.

I was wondering if anyone else has encountered problems with the fuel gauge and/or speedometer.

btw - if I'm not in the right forum, sorry, just let me know where this should be posted.

You need the upgraded servo motors.
2005s are notorious for this.
Search eBay for cluster servo motors...
