Thumbs up LOUD is an understatement

Well I finally got off my butt and went and got a flowmaster and spent the day putting it on. Being the cheap guy that I am I opted for the $150 one and fab'd all the hangers and piping. If my compressor would hold 90#'s it sure would of saved me half the day. My cutting tool just drains my little compressor so I spent most of the time waiting for the air to build back up and hack sawed in between. It seem's worth it so far but I'll really know when I run a full tank thru it and see if this thing helps the mpg's as well as the decibel's. I gotta admit that for only being a six it has that low rumble like an 8 when just cruz'n. But it may be too loud(I MUST BE GETTING OLD?). We'll see when I go by a cop or two.

Me and my buddies did some work on my exhaust and I'm almost running straight pipes. I agree loud as hell...but still no tickets from the cops. I live in a relatively small town and see cops all the time so i dont think you should have a problem.

I hope your'e right. I still have to find the right tip for it though. I want a black one and hopefully ceramic but I haven't seen anything that I like so far. All I know is I'm not in the position to spend much so whatever I gets gonna be on the cheap.

I take off the muffler from time to time for ****'s and giggles .......it drones a lot...not sure i would call it loud......then again my last car had a full o/r exhaust through mac flowpaths and a big *** cam....it shook the car at idle....and it was a 3.8
now THAT was loud.....my neighbors were always coming over asking me to "turn it down"......and I was like........Uhhhh, I can't lol .....I'd say easily it was around 110-115 db at idle...and at 6000 I hesitate to say it's close to 152-156 db.....possibly more.

No exaggeration either, I'll post a few exhaust clips of my old car tomorrow from My other board.

i started my car without muffs out of curiosity also. as another MF member put it, "sounds like something was about to blow up!".... lol. i admit that it did sound pretty damn cool at idle though but unfortunately, that's about it.
