Or I should ask, What would be the best CAI/Tuner Combo?

Obviously the SCT SF3 but which CAI would be best for a V6

I would go with one from Brenspeed or Bamachips. C&L / X-Cal 3.

And I have FRPP 3.73's and they do not wine, motive gears are used by FRPP, but are not FRPP. Make sense?

If you leave out F/I options, CAI/tune is biggest jump, then gears were second biggest, then alum. driveshaft was 3rd biggest difference.

All of the tune-required CAI's are equivalent in performance. The real power adder is the tune. Figure 80% tune, 20% CAI. And WHO you buy the tune from makes a big difference. The AM, SCT and FRPP tunes are mild compared to those from Brenspeed, Bama and Tillman. As far as the handheld, they simply provide the method for downloading/uploading tunes and to make some other minor operating adjustments. No one handheld does any more performance wise over another.

Sure does, Where did you get your gears installed at? I keep hear stories of how installers mess up and if yours dont make noise, I want to go to your people

I ended up going with my CAI/tune combo from bama. I'm running the 91 tune with a xcal2 and C&L intake. I bought all of the components used except for the tune and it ran me 300. Just a little tid bit for you.

I started my modding with the rear end. It seemed like the most logical starting point for me with my future goals. I do plan on going FI though. I vote for the 8.8 first.

the price from new take off is extremely over priced, shoot them and email asking if thats the best they can do, i asked and they priced me for the same 8.8 and 3.73 about 100 bucks cheaper. I couldnt get it, ran into problems

don't know where you live but you might be able to find one at a local speed shop for pretty cheap.
