Center Console Light for Gear Selection?
#21
Hello,
I am a newbie here and I've searched for the answer to this question for quite a while. When selecting a gear, my 2005 V6 automatic does not feature a light to see the gear (R, N, D, etc.)
Do your Mustang gear selections illuminate? Is this normal that mine does not? I've downloaded the PDF file that tells you how to disassemble the center console but I do not see anything on this forum about a light.
Thanks Guys and Gals! You are a big help!!

Gear selector light
Yes it does have a bulb and pretty easy to replace. 99cent build and about 15m to change. Trim pulls loose around shifter and unplug cig lighter 2 T20 Torx screws to remove then turn on the key switch don't start just turn so you can move the shifter so you can maneuver the plate with the gear listing to remove the bulb on backside. Twist to remove. Mine had a lot of soda or something all sticky. Had to use some electrical cleaner on the socket then replaced the bulb. Works fine.
