Advanced Auto sells this crap here and I swear by it. It will take anything sticky off your car. I used it to remove stripes on my old Police Interceptor and used it for a few things on my Stang. Just spray it around the edges, wait a minute, then start lifting up. If it gets stuck, spray some more, repeat until it's all gone.

Keep at it and you should be able to get it off. I went through a similar process when removing my side emblems and yes, the fishing line will break.

It took me a good 20-30 minutes to saw through mine. I didn't have gloves (i know, i know) and just wanted it off fast. They were a pain to saw through, but it's worth the end result. I also kinda 'pryed' the spoiler upward as I went along, from different angles.

it's ok. i have a pro body shop down in Covington that i'm taking it too. they are goin to remove the old one AND install the new one for like $25. I trust them 100% since they do ALL of the work on my friend's Roush (1 of 3 like it) and he cherishes that Stang like his life depends on it.

cant wait. i'm excited!

$25 bucks? That's not bad at all. Could have saved me a few cuts, lol.

At first it was a biach to even try and get loose. Mine had the double stick crap on it too. I called a buddy at the repair shop and this is what he told me to do. I took a heat gun and heated the underside of the decklid for only a few seconds, and then popped it off with 1 blow to the center above the 3rd light and it came loose. Worked perfectly and very quickly. No fishing line. The tape came off mostly with the spoiler, but some residue was left. I cleaned it up with 91% alcohol with no problem. Too much heat will cause the tape to stretch and get all gummy, but be sure to only do a short heat cycle or you will have a gummy mess to clean up.

yea, i called 1 and they wanted $75-80 to just remove the spoiler. i was like WTF!!!!

anyways, if anyone lives in Cincinnati-NKY area and have a Mustang and are looking for a way to get there's removed. . . . and even get the new one installed if it's not that bad, like a GT500 spoiler for example, let me know. i kno a guy that will do both together for $25, and he does a decent job. i'm not complaining. i mean all i wanted was for the old one to be removed. . . . and for $25 for both removal cleaning and installation of the new one, i dont see how anyone could complain.

awesome ppl, they make u feel pretty comfortable. if anyone is willing to travel to Covington to get this done, PM and i'll give u the name of the body shop and its address and contact info.

i gotta get these ppl more business, they deserve it!
