i wanna do a muffler change on the 6'er cuz we all know how long stock parts last on our cars.... how does the factory gt muffler sound on it? we all know how online videos dont make up for real life.....

I bought one on ebay for 50 bucks. It is just a touch louder then stock inside the car. At idle, you will notice no difference. At cruising speed it sounds stock too...
I really do not think it was worth the money.. not a big enough change inside the car. When i pulled away from my house like a bat outa hell, my family said they heard a big difference. I heard it just a touch louder... you can now hear it, but it is nothing like the 14" magnaflow i had on my f150.

Doing a muffler change for performance is a better reason, as is doing duals. It'll sound better, but not like a V8.

But the GT mufflers are a good starting point, theyre cheap, plentiful and sound a lot better than stock (especially duals). I've had mine for a while and want to upgrade. They're other things higher on the list so it will have to wait. Finding the right exhaust seems like a never ending experiment though

I'd personally save for the Borlas.

I put my GT manual takeoff onto my g/f's V6 and it DID improve the sound somewhat, but you're not going to EVER get a V8 sound from a V6.
Be sure to get the GT takeoff from a manual since there IS a difference in the internal design and backpressure. This has been discussed over and over and over.
