Default Got my car tuned : )

I got my car tuned the other night and i am very happy with the results.

Without the nitrous i have 210 rwhp and 241 torque and with the nitrous (130 shot) i have 323 rwhp and 418 torque.

I have not taken it to the track yet but im hoping for at least a 12.8 ill post up what i get when i go on wednesday.

I was just excited and wanted to tell someone. Thanks for reading

isn't a 130 shot a little unsafe?

I hope not. My tuner said its fine but its as big as i want to go. I have heard of people going to a 150 shot with stock internals. That tune was on 91 my tuner said with race gas id get 10 to 15 more horse. If it blows it gives me an excuse to build it ; ) im more worried about my tranny. I have a race clutch that can handle it but my tranny is going to **** out on me

That's up around the edge of what the stock engine can take, and I agree, the stock T-5 tranny will probably be on borrowed time w/ that much torque. You seem to know you're on the upper margin though, and as long as you stick with the "if something goes, it's a good excuse to upgrade" philosophy, I figure you're in the right place mentally at least.

Good luck with the track runs

Ya when it does go ill get the tr-6060. Im holding out as long as i can because i just spent $1200 on this clutch and with the new tranny ill need a new clutch and drive shaft so all together im looking at about 4k. So ill wait till it stopped working. Im already on my 2nd tranny. I have a buddy at ford that doesnt see the nitrous if you know what i mean ; )

I thought 75 shot was the highest we could run, or maybe that was just the "Safest" good luck.

Ah, if only we all had a mechanic friend that had a similar visual impairment

The 6060 is firmly on my to-do list if my T5 goes south (I'm still on my original, and so far it's holding up, but I don't kid myself that it's going to last forever so far above it's designed power level)

Yeah, 75 is healthy and pretty "safe". That's the thing with nitrous, it's easy to upgrade the jets, but each bump up increases the odds of something "unfortunate" going on.

U R 11 5 at least knows he's pushing the edge of the envelope, and he's done the smart thing by getting a proper tune for it. The guys that scare me are the ones pushing a 125+ shot that can't even admit to themselves that anything could happen at that level, and are just running a slapped on nitrous kit straight up on the factory tune.
