Removing valve covers... how to?
Hey guys, ive looked all around for a quick how-to on removing the 4.0 v6's valve covers with no luck
Does anyone know of a write up or feel like writing up a little guide for me?
I just want to paint them with some high temp engine paint.
Thanks in advance!

There isn't much to it, you should be able to see the bolts that hold the valve covers down, when you find them all from there you just remove the hoses/brackets that are in the way on the valve covers or around them!

Grab yourself a Haynes manual at the local Autozone and go to work. I don't know about the 6 engines but I know during the reinstall on the 8's you need a torque wrench capable of at least 88lbs force. Make sure you read through the Manual thoroughly before you attempt anything. Good luck and make sure you post pics!

It's pretty easy guys. You have to take off the coil pack which is a few bolts. It think there is 8 bolts per cover, you will need a deep socket (8mm i think). The egr stuff just has clips to remove them. That's all there is too it. You will have to fight the wiring a little but its not that bad.
