Default I installed the MRT axleback on my 2011 V6

First I put my car up on ramps

Behind the drivers side muffler is a panhard brace thats in the way. I removed the two bolts with a 15mm socket

And pulled the brace down

Loosening the muffler clamps takes a 13mm socket, but the bolt doesnt need to come all the way out.

The mufflers have 3 hangar pins that slide in rubber bushings. 2 above towards the front of the car, and one at the rear. A squirt of Armorall on these will help later.

Here I am seperating the rearmost bushing,

Which allowed the muffler to swing down and seperate the flange, I pulled down on the x pipe side while letting the muffler go forward.

Mufflers out!

The clamp is welded to the muffler with metal tab so I had to cut it off...

... to remove it.

I put the old clamps on the new mufflers

And hooked the forward hangar pin in the bushing.

Lining up the flanges is pretty tricky

While at the same time getting the rear hangar in

I snugged up the clamps but did no tighten them all the way....

.. because I had to make sure the tip was lined up in the bumper first.

Once I had the tips even,

I cranked the bastards down.

I forgot to put the panhard brace back, till I realised I had bolts left over!

Schwing!

Well, I never used the video function on my camera before today, and for whatever reason the audio on my camera is way too hot. Everything sounds distorted. But i'll post em up anyways:

thanks, I'm just curious. From the video MRT posted the interior sounded ok, but you said you sounded pretty terrible.

What cant be heard in thier video is all the bass. Its an inaudible dull roar that you feel. Like a subwoofer.

Its more when on the throttle below 2500 rpm, though, like pulling up a hill or something.

I'm gonna dig out my old camera and try to get some better vids for you tomorrow.

It's too bad, too, cause the one from today is a fast run up one of my favorite roads.

Nice write up! Wish Ford would've had dual exhaust for the V6'ers on the (05-09). =-(
