Well said everyone. Sways CAI tune. You could look into upgrading the shocks and struts. I don't know that much about suspension but the koni srts seem to be a good inexpensive option.

+1 on the CAI, good tune, and sways w. poly bushings. For about $800 you will have totally changed the character of your ride. These changes turn the V6 from a sporty looking car to a legitimate sports car. I can't tell you how much fun I have driving my V6 now. I get a big grin on my face every time I get in it.

Everybody tells newbies to do the CAI/tune, but in my experience, the sways are the most under-rated mod for sixes that don't have the Pony Package. They are dirt cheap and will make the car handle like it is on rails. They make me so much more confident that I can handle the extra power from the CAI/tune without getting into trouble.

Lowering will improve handling and some like the looks. Just keep in mind that you've got to do more than swap springs. You'll need to replace the struts also unless you don't mind losing teeth. This will get expensive before you are finished.

As for the exhaust, you can save a lot of money by installing take-off GT mufflers. I bought a pair on Ebay for $40. I installed one, and then later when I had some more money added a custom H-pipe and the second muffler. Even the single muffler transformed the exhaust note to a deeper rumble. Adding the second wasn't as big of a change--just sort of the same thing but in stereo. I did this for looks mainly. What I like about the GT mufflers is that they give a nice rumble when I stomp on it but are quiet when cruising. And cheap! With the money you save over aftermarket exhaust, you could get a CAI or the sways.

Make sure you get a tune with your bbk cai. Or you will have the check engine light. I know from past experience. Once you get it tuned you will love it.

Thats because you didn't disconnect the battery when it was installed, re-connect so that your car can adjust its A/F ratio with the added air intake. Learning mode.

I was looking through the links you posted for me and Im seriously considering this kit: http://www.newtakeoff.com/mustang_gt...2005-2008.aspx
Do you think that this kit with H&R springs (http://www.americanmuscle.com/hr-sup...ings-2005.html) are a good buy or are there better springs that lower the car a little more and give it a better ride?
Thanks for all yout help.

Ummm H&R is about as low as it goes besides getting the Eibach Sportlines which I wouldn't go any lower the the H&R's which I believe you will have to trim the bumpstops in the back. The eibach pro-kit is a good kit as well, but trust me H&R's are plenty low enough, I'm even satisfied with how much the pro-kit lowered my car.

Out of that GT suspension kit the only thing you will get use out of is the front and rear sway bars, everything else is the same as the V6 I believe and either way you should look into getting some Koni's or so other type of aftermarket shocks/struts.

I think the early BBK CAI's had a larger than stock tube diameter at the MAF housing, and maybe that's where they earned their reputation of throwing CEL codes. The later ones have a stock diameter at the MAF housing, then flair out the pipe to a larger diameter the rest of the way to the throttle body.

At least that's my understanding FWIW...
