Should I swap out for an 8.8 rear or go with the stock + 4.10 and t-lock?

Extra moving mass creates drag during accelleration.

slow it down when?
When you apply the brakes? fyi

8.8 take off is the route I'm going to go. Sure it's heavier but I'm also replacing the drive shaft with aluminum so there's the reduction... I just think doing gear swaps too easily become nightmares sometimes. As someone else already said, you may never get it right and have to deal with a poor install as well as eat the cost. I'll take the extra weight over even the possibility of a bad install any day myself.

How well can the 7.5 hold up with N2O? (75-100 shot)

its all about preference and future intentions. do the science research and make your own decision.

All I can tell is my experience. Before I even put the Zex kit on my car and made my first pass with a 75 shot I bent the pinion on a set of Richmond gears in my 7.5. All I had was an intake and tune on it and was launching on a set of Mickey Thompson drag radials only foot braking it up to 1800 RPM at launch.

Once I had the Zex kit in I knew the rebuilt (second mistake, first was trying to build the 7.5 to begin with) was on borrowed time and I would break it again launching on DR's with the the nitrous hit coming on at 2300 rpm or just as I hit the 60' mark.

To me the 8.8 makes more sense.
You're done with the first shot.
