Default GT brakes under 07 v6 wheels?

I may upgrade my GT brakes, wondering if my buddy with an 07v6 with the 16's can "upgrade" to my GT brakes and keep his factory 16's?

No, I believe he will need at least 17's.

If only he got the Pony Package. On the other hand it gives him an excuse to get rid of those fugly stock 16's.

Yep, no clearance under the 16" rims for the GT front brake upgrade.
The 16s are so skinny that if you could put the GT rotors on there,
the friction coefficient would not be enough and you would have
touchy, easily lock-upable, front tires flat spotting brakes.
