Default Need photos of stock battery setup/cables

Hi folks,

Without going into a long diatribe about the mechanics I trusted to do warranty work, I need photos of the stock battery cable routing, specifically from the positive terminal to the alternator, and from the positive terminal to wherever it disappears behind the engine. Doesn't need to be anything fancy, just what's inside/outside the loom as it comes from the factory, and where the cables run with regard to the firewall/engine bay generally.

I'm particularly interested in seeing how the positive cable routes above/ behind/ whatever the battery using the plastic clips at the edge of the hood line.

Can someone point me towards appropriate gallery photos or maybe shoot a couple of quick pics? Doesn't need to be anything too detailed, just trying to understand how to best compensate for my now nonstandard and shorter lines without exposing them to too much heat.

Thanks very much for the responses, but you guys have your batteries in opposite positions...? Positive to the left vs. right?

Is the loom stock in both these shots?

@157db, any chance you have a higher rez version of that same photo?

@tnt, I'm assuming based on the other mods that yours is nonstandard layout- looks like it runs a little closer to the engine, any issues?

Can someone confirm that this photo accurately reflects the stock setup (other than the plug wires)? It's from a thread on a different forum where a guy announces he's just replaced his stock battery with one from Sears. Nothing against Sears, but it's not typically where folks doing serious 12v hacking go, leading me to think (hope) the loom is untouched.

...I'd still like to see routing behind the engine and to the alt, but if accurate this gives me enough to go on.

Yeah that looks like an OEM setup. I'll take a pic of mine tomorrow.

Default thanks!

Thanks all for your help. Here are before & after shots showing how I mitigated what I was given. Ultimately I'd like to switch over to mil-spec terminals. This is a fairly minor change, but hopefully will keep the car safe over time.

Before (as received from shop):

After (I also took the opportunity to turn the fuse cover into a home for decals)

The reason that a couple of shots show the positive terminal on the right is because the stock set up changed in 2010 (like #3 and #4)

so for 2005-09 model years positive is on the left like #2 and #6

Interesting. Anyone know if there was a reason for that? Logically it's marginally safer (higher hood clearance over positive & more distance from terminals to firewall)...
