Default AM vs. Ebay

http://www.americanmuscle.com/2005-p...hts-black.html @ AM for $250

http://www.americanmuscle.com/2005-p...hts-black.html on eBay, $161 with shipping.

I've not bought car parts from eBay before, and I'm new to the Mustang game - any particular reason to avoid the less expensive ones?

Thanks!

You didn't provide the ebay link, but the only thing is quality as far as if something goes wrong with them ebay only gives you 45 days i believe to file for a refund or a dispute, so basically after that your SOL if something goes wrong. Also fitment might be not as good.

Cool, thanks. Moot point because someone "bought it now" lol. Will keep that in mind for the future. I don't mind paying more cash for the more durable part.

AM's stuff is quality and their customer service is great. I find the cheaper ebay stuff is often Chinese knock-offs unless stated otherwise in the add and the quality isn't always as good. You get what you pay for 9 times out of 10. I don't mind paying more if it's American and if I don't have to worry about the quality

Not a fan of those lights either. I've heard a lot about aftermarket headlights having issues with the seal and water/moisture getting in. No thanks

The same reason you would buy fireworks from a legit store rather then going to chinatown and buying them out of the back of a store. It is to assure quality. You never know what you will get on ebay, but AM has incredible customer service, not that you will likely need it with how good most of their products are.

I agree with what they are saying, but I wouldn't write off ebay. You can find good deals on quality stuff.

I got my 1/4 louvers and door scoops of ebay, the prices were way better then any mustang site would offer, the paint was a perfect match, and they still look great 2 years later. Also, just got a painted gt500 spoiler off there for 120, can't beat that, I won't buy any knock off performance parts or anything of that sorts from there however, there are some deals to be found on there though.

It all depends on what you buy. Use common sense and buyer beware. Make sure you know what you're getting.

I got a genuine Roush strut tower brace from a Ford dealership that operated off ebay real cheap compared to any retail vendor.

I LOVE American Muscle. But for me it comes down to price and quality. I've gotten several parts off of ebay (Rear spoiler, side louvers, painted hood scoop, blackout panel, shift ****) and have never been disappointed. I've never bought any electrical items from them though. Might be another story. It also helps if you read the review of the seller and the product.

I've bought multiple parts form ebay for 4 different cars. No problems I didnt expect with any. The AM billet grille with rally lights had to be sealed just like the headlights for my passat had to. No complaints on any of it.
